Everybody carries something. We’re interested in what people choose, how they use it, and whose everyday lives are represented in the conversation.

Why this exists

Gear media often treats an expensive collection as the story. We want to start with the person: the commute, the work, the neighborhood, the budget, the responsibilities, and the style. Black and other POC perspectives are central to this publication’s editorial point of view.

Two ways of seeing gear

The founders are Modo and Mosley. Modo brings digital development, design, music, and urban-life interests. Mosley has a military background. His fuller biography and column will be developed with his approval.

What belongs here

Everyday tools, bags, wallets, organizers, light, technology, style, first aid, responsible personal-safety equipment, and the stories around them. Use, comfort and context come before collecting.

Where the project stands

Black Carry Standard (BLK Carry Standard) is an independent publication. The opening essay and editorial standard are available now. Original reviews, contributor portraits and Mosley’s column will follow when the reporting and approvals are ready.

The generated concept images depict neither real contributors nor verified product loadouts. They will be replaced as authentic photography becomes available.
